LGBT activists plan gay pride parade near Khimki administration building

Moscow, October 3, Interfax - LGBT activists have filed a request seeking the authorization of a rally and march in Khimki, Moscow Region, on the day of the mayoral elections, which are scheduled to take place in Khimki on October 14, Nikolay Alexeyev, founder of the Moscow gay pride parade movement, told Interfax on Wednesday.

"If the authorities refuse to authorize them, we are ready to go to court, including the European Court of Human Rights. Now that the municipal elections are coming up in Khimki we have a right to know every candidate's attitude to the observance of the rights of sexual minorities," the activist said.
