Moscow Patriarchate criticizes Israel for loyalty to sex minorities

Moscow, April 6, Interfax - The Moscow Patriarchate criticizes Israel for tolerating public violations against moral norms.

"Israel declares itself a secular state, but unfortunately, such declaration sometimes results in ignoring feelings of believers, not only Jews, but of other religions as well," head of the Synodal Department for External Church Relations Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk said at a meeting with delegation of the American-Israeli Public Relations Committee in Moscow.

According to him, the Russian Church was not happy to hear the news that "gay prides" will be conducted in Jerusalem.

"We are convinced that only traditional morals can be foundation of society and relations between people. For this reason dialogue between religious communities and state and all public forces is much needed and its results should be embodied in organization of society," the official website of the Moscow Patriarchate quotes the hierarch as saying.
