Vilnius, December 22, Interfax/BNS – The Lithuanian Seimas adopted amendments to the law on Protection of minors from negative information, which will substitute the law banning promotion of non-traditional sexual relations.
Amendments to the law ruled out provisions, which banned spreading information promoting homosexual, bisexual or polygamous relations.
Critics called this clause "homophobic."
However, the new version bans spreading information, which can incite underage to sexual relations.
Compromised variant of the amendments was supported by 58 members of the Seimas, four MPs voted against while 25 abstained from voting.
