Moscow, January 19, Interfax - Russian President Vladimir Putin did not participate in Epiphany ice bathing this year, heeding the recommendations of the Church due to the pandemic situation, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"The president preferred to heed the recommendations of representatives of the Church and not to ice bathe due to the pandemic conditions," Peskov told reporters.
Journalists also asked Peskov whether the president's grandchildren were baptized.
"I don't know. It's the president's personal space. I have no authority and intention of intruding into this personal space," Peskov said.
Peskov was also asked whether his daughter with figure skater Tatyana Navka was baptized. "Yes, she was baptized. Although this is my personal space, too," he said.
