Makhachkala, November 12, Interfax - A resident of the Dagestani village of Ameterkmakhi fired an assault rifle in a land row with the family of a local imam. There are dead and injured.
"According to preliminary data, against the backdrop of a land argument a resident of the village started firing an assault rifle at a mosque. One of his opponents - the imam of the mosque - was killed. The assailant died from a stab wound inflicted by a local resident who tried to stop him," the Unified Dispatcher Service told Interfax on Friday.
Two locals sustained gunshot wounds and are now in hospital.
Several firearms were recovered at the scene, a source told Interfax.
"At the place of the shooting, several units of firearm have been seized, including a Kalashnikov, none of which are registered," the source said.
