Russian Orthodox Church wished Russians to keep faith, hope and love

Moscow, December 28, Interfax - The Russian Orthodox Church official called main values of the outgoing year faith, hope and love and wished Russians to preserve them in the coming year.

"The year has not passed in vain, and I wish the same three key virtues faith, hope and love will be preserved in the hearts in the coming year," head of the Synodal Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Hilarion said on air the Church and the World program on Rossiya-24 TV channel.

Speaking about the achievements of the outgoing year, Metropolitan Hilarion mentioned peaceful settlement of the conflict in Nagorny Karabakh.

The hierarch called invention of the vaccine against coronavirus another important achievement of the year.

"I think it is a very important contribution of our country, which came to us from outside. And the fact that our scientists made this vaccine has shown a lot of things: we were ready to this situation, it was not invented from scratch, it was made on the basis of the existing vaccine, and we can already see from the vaccinated people that it has a protective effect," the metropolitan said.
