Head of Russian Catholics contracts coronavirus

Moscow, October 15, Interfax - Archbishop Paolo Pezzi, president of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of the Russian Federation, has said he has contracted coronavirus.

"I have contracted Covid, and I am therefore in isolation now," Pezzi said in a video address from his room, which was published on the Facebook page of the Catholic Archdiocese of Mother of God at Moscow.

The archbishop said he has taken his illness as "an opportunity to more deeply focus on the main thing," namely, on Christ. "I am certain that this time, if it is devoted to God, will bear fruit for our entire Church, which has great need for grace and unity," Pezzi said, blessing his flock.
