Minsk, October 8, Interfax - New Apostolic Nuncio Ante Jozic will arrive in Minsk on October 1, the site of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus said on Thursday.
According to earlier reports, the pope appointed Croatian Archbishop Ante Jozic new Apostolic nuncio in Belarus in May 2020.
He replaced in that post Hungarian Archbishop Gabor Pinter as head of the diplomatic representation of the Holy See in Belarus. Pinter completed his diplomatic mission in the country in early 2020. He had been apostolic nuncio in Belarus since May 2016.
Archbishop Ante Jozic is 53. He previously served as first secretary of the embassy of the Vatican in Russia and was then sent to Hong Kong, after which he became apostolic nuncio to Cote d'Ivoire.
