Moscow, September 14, Interfax - Metropolitan Hilarion, head of the Department for External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church, advised not to hesitate with getting vaccinated from coronavirus to avoid suffering.
"If someone asks me whether it is worth getting vaccinated [from coronavirus] or waiting, I say that it is best to get vaccinated and the sooner, the better, because the risk of the vaccine having some side effects is minimal," the metropolitan said in the Church and the World program on the Rossiya 24 television channel.
The risks posed by side effects of the vaccine and the disease itself are incomparable. "It is already known what side effects vaccination can have, an elevated temperature, maybe for one night, and people feel weak and drowsy. But all of that cannot be compared with the suffering of the people infected with coronavirus," he said.
"The risks cannot be compared. And, of course, I recommend everyone who can to get vaccinated as soon as possible," the metropolitan said.
