Kyrgyz Muslim board cancels Eid al-Adha collective prayers due to Covid-19

Bishkek, July 28, Interfax - The Spiritual Muslim Board of Kyrgyzstan has cancelled collective prayers on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha religious holiday due to coronavirus-related risks, the board's press service said on Tuesday.

"The holiday prayer on July 31 will not take place either on square or in central mosques of the country," the press service said.

"In order to prevent the further spread of the disease, the board asks worshippers not to gather on Eid al-Adha and not to visit each other. The holiday should be spent within the family circle," it said.
