Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov hospitalized with suspected coronavirus

Moscow, May 8, Interfax - Head of the Patriarch's Commission on Family Affairs, Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov has been taken to hospital with suspected Covid-19, a source in the priest's entourage told Interfax.

"Father Dimitry is in stable condition," he said.

The archpriest has recently undergone a surgery, and he belongs to the coronavirus risk group, because he is 69 years old, he said.

Several well-known Moscow Orthodox clergymen, namely, archpriests Alexander Shargunov, Vladislav Sveshnikov, and Nikolay Krechetov, have been recently hospitalized with coronavirus.
