Moscow, March 17, Interfax - Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov, the head of the Patriarch's Commission on Family Issues, believes that attention given to coronavirus is unreasonably exaggerated.
"What should we be afraid of? We have 100,000 people dying of tuberculosis and no one fears, we don't hear about precautions. There are certain rules how to communicate with people with active form, but there is complete silence about all other aspects," the priest said on air Radonezh radio station.
According to him, "there is a campaign blown up around this question, all over the world." Meanwhile, Father Dimitry remains skeptical about it.
"Let's wait and see," he said and added that holy fathers teach to be afraid of only two things - God and sin. "Not virus, even if it is in crown or any other headwear, disposes of our deaths and lives. Only the Lord Himself decides over our deaths and lives," the church official said.
