Moscow, June 8, Interfax - Organizers of the Moscow gay festival have asked the Prosecutor General's Office to open criminal proceedings against the people who attacked German parliament member Volker Beck and other parade participants.
"The organizers of the gay festival demand the immediate opening of a criminal case," says a press release posted on Thursday.
A photograph of the person who attacked Beck was published by the journal Russian Newsweek. A copy of the magazine and testimony from eyewitnesses were attached to the appeal to the Prosecutor General's Office.
A copy of the appeal was sent to the German embassy in Moscow and to Beck.
