Russian Church believes churches are good for making Orthodox acquaintances

Moscow, January 13, Interfax - It is natural for an Orthodox Christian to get acquainted with girls in churches, the Russian Church official believes.

"Certainly, the church is the house of God, and it would be strange if you visit it only to find a bride there. However, for Orthodox Christians the atmosphere of the Church is a natural environment where not only personal acquaintances, but even love can start," head of the Synodal Department for External Church Relations Metropoitan Hilarion said in the Church and the World program on Rossiya-24 TV.

He reminded the proverb saying marriages are made in heaven and noted that many believers who became husband and wife got acquainted in church, in choir gallery, when they fulfilled certain church duties or after the service, they started communicating and then it resulted in love.

If it is love at first sight, Metropolitan Hilarion does not recommend letting it slip, it is better to come up to the girl and talk to her without any confusion.
