Moscow, September 12, Interfax - A Just Russia will grant the application filed by businessman Konstantin Malofeyev on his withdrawal from the party, of which he has been a member for just half a year, the party's chairman Sergey Mironov said.
"Yes, he has filed an application [to leave the party], we will grant it," Mironov told reporters on Thursday.
Mironov said this is due to the fact that Malofeyev intends to focus on working in the World Russian People's Congress, an international public organization and forum founded in 1993 for people concerned about the present and future of Russia.
It was reported in March that Malofeyev had joined the party. The party planned to hold a convention in late April, where Malofeyev was expected to be elected "the second man in the party." However, the convention did not take place and no decision to include Malofeyev in the party's administration was made.
Malofeyev became a member of the World Russian People's Congress administration in April.
