Moscow, August 7, Interfax - Most significant events of the Great Patriotic War will be depicted at the facades of the main church of Russian military forces, which will be opened in 2020 at the Patriot park in the Moscow Region.
"Sculptor Vitaly Shanov works over the gates of the main church of the Russian military forces and bas-relieves, which will depict most significant events of the Great Patriotic War," officials of the Information and Mass Communication Department of the Defense Ministry told journalists on Wednesday.
"We can work almost round the clock, modern technologies allow us to do it. We are making big panel boards on approved drafts and models enlarged up to the necessary scale, and work over elements - faces, hands, pieces of cloths," the ministry quotes Shanov as saying.
The battle of Stalingrad, liberation of Sevastopol, the twenty-eight heroic Panfilov soldiers, the battle of Moscow, raising a flag of the Victory over Reichstag and many other significant events of the war will be depicted at the church facades. Today, the work in clay is almost finished, they are going to be molded and connected in bronze. Finished elements will be delivered to the building site of the main church of the Russian Military Forces where they will be finally set up.
