Moscow, July 10, Interfax - The statement of Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov on women's mental capabilities is nonsense, Russian presidential human rights council head Mikhail Fedotov said.
"I would gladly have a debate with the respected archpriest. It's utter nonsense, there is nothing to comment on here. He won't be talked to in decent society, they will look at him and say he is crazy," Fedotov told reporters on Wednesday, responding to a question from Interfax.
Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov, the head of the patriarch's commission on family affairs and protection of mothers and children, said earlier this week that women's mental capabilities are, as a rule, lower than men's, but they are more selfless than men.
