Russian Orthodox Church to open churches in Cyprus, Sweden

Moscow, May 28, Interfax - The presence of Orthodox Christianity is needed in Europe, and the Russian Orthodox Church is planning to open new churches there; in Cyprus and Sweden, in the immediate future.

"Churches in Cyprus - in Limassol - and in Sweden will soon be put into service," Father Alexander Volkov, the spokesman for Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, said at a press conference in Moscow on Tuesday.

Father Alexander additionally said that to his knowledge, other local Churches, unlike the Russian one, are not opening any new places of worship in Europe.
