Provocative behavior of migrants causes nationalism, anti-Islamic terrorism - Bortnikov

Dushanbe, May 21, Interfax - Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov has indicated a serious threat of growing anti-Islamic terrorism, which is caused by provocative behavior of migrants in addition to other factors.

"Anti-Islamic terrorism becomes another serious problem. Its sporadic outbreaks derive from negative phenomena in the field of migration, including the reluctance of migrants to adapt in host countries, their provocative behavior, and the creation of ethnic criminal groups," Bortnikov said at a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Security and Intelligence Agencies.

"Problems, which have been piling up for years, trigger the growing neo-nationalist and xenophobic attitude of the local population and aggression towards Muslims," Bortnikov said.
