Makhachkala, May 21, Interfax - Law enforcement agencies have found no explosive devices in the building of the Muslim Spiritual Council in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan in Russia's North Caucasus, a spokesperson for the regional Interior Ministry told Interfax.
"People were evacuated. Police with sniffer dogs and explosives experts from the Interior Ministry and the Federal Security Service checked the building, but no explosive devices were found. That phoned-in anonymous bomb threat turned out to be a hoax," the spokesperson said.
"The identity of the offender is being established," the spokesperson said.
The Muslim Spiritual Council has already resumed its work, the spokesperson said.
According to earlier reports, the building of the Muslim Spiritual Council in Makhachkala was cordoned off by law enforcement agencies and evacuated on Monday evening following a bomb threat.
