All members of Ecumenical Patriarchate's Synod sign tomos for Ukraine media

Kiev, January 9, Interfax - Members of the Ecumenical Patriarchate's Synod signed the tomos of autocephaly for the new church of Ukraine in Phanar, Istanbul on Wednesday, according to Ukrainian television channel TSN.

"The document has now been finalized. It will return to Ukraine in a few days," TSN reported, showing a photograph taken at the signing ceremony.

On January 6, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew handed the tomos of autocephaly to the head of new church Yepifaniy in Istanbul. Patriarch Bartholomew had signed the tomos the day before.

On January 7, Metropolitan Yepifaniy and Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko brought the scroll with the tomos to St. Sophia's Cathedral in Kiev for the Christmas liturgy. The tomos was then returned to Istanbul to be signed by all of the members of the Ecumenical Patriarchate's Synod, which traditionally meets on the ninth day of each month.
