Kiev, December 13, Interfax - The Ukrainian Culture Ministry is inspecting the museum collections of two monasteries, the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and the Pochayev Lavra, and will report the results on December 17, Culture Minister Yevgeny Nishchuk told journalists on Thursday.
Only then will it be possible to obtain credible information as to what has not been found and if anything has been lost, he said.
He declined to comment on possible losses before the release of the report.
He stressed that the four most valuable items at the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra were still there.
"As for particular icons which form part of the museum collection of the Ukrainian state, we will report on their presence on December 17," Nishchuk said.
