Chisinau, October 10, Interfax - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will visit various places, including cities in Transdniestria and Gagauzia, during his visit to Moldova, Moldovan President Igor Dodon wrote on Facebook.
Dodon said that on Tuesday, he and Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova discussed preparations for the patriarch's visit on October 25-28.
"The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia will pay his first visit to northern and southern Moldova. The preliminary program of the visit includes His Holiness Patriarch Kirill's prayers at Chisinau's Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ on October 25. The next day, the patriarch will visit Bendery [situated on the right bank of the Dniester River, but an administrative center in Transdniestria], Komrat, Gagauzia's administrative center, on October 27, and Beltsy [the second largest Moldovan city, called the northern capital of the republic] on October 28," Dodon wrote.
"All Orthodox Christians of Moldova are looking forward to Patriarch Kirill's visit," he wrote.
"I expressed confidence that the Metropolis of Moldova will forever stay united with the Russian Orthodox Church," Dodon wrote.
The meeting took place at the residence of the Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova.
Patriarch Kirill visited Moldova in October 2011 and September 2013. On the second trip, he visited Tiraspol.
