Requiems for people killed in fire in Kemerovo shopping center will be held in all Russian Orthodox churches

Moscow, March 27, Interfax - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia held a requiem on Monday for the victims of the tragedy in Kemerovo, where dozens people are dead and missing after a fire.

Patriarch's press secretary priest Alexander Volkov said that the primate blessed to hold requiem on Tuesday, the third day of the tragedy, in all churches of the Russian Orthodox Church.

"His Holiness the patriarch sympathizes with relatives and friends of people killed in fire in Kemerovo. Today his prayers are about those who were innocently killed. The patriarch also prays about the soonest recovery of the injured and convey his blessing to all who provide help to the suffering people - medics, rescuers, sympathizing people who follow their heart and participate in such help," patriarchal press service wrote in its Telegram channel.

According to the patriarchal press secretary, "it is necessary to carefully and explicitly investigate the reasons of the tragedy, all who are guilty should bear serious responsibility."
