Moscow, January 19, Interfax - Russian President Vladimir Putin's Epiphany dip was shown in media this year because the event took place in the presence of many believers, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
When asked why Putin's Epiphany dips, which, according to Peskov, the president does every year, were not shown before, he said, "This year, there were very many believers. The president [attended] a short part of the prayer, which took place in a church, and therefore it generally took place publicly. Therefore, it was decided to show it."
"Previously, it was more discreet," Peskov said.
