Moscow, December 18, Interfax - President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia Alexander Boroda suggests extending the national compound of the Marches of Life, whose participants visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, where several millions of Jews were eliminated.
"God grants that young people of all nationalities will visit concentration camps and spare no efforts not to repeat such events in the future", - he said on Sunday in Kremlin during the Fiddler on the Roof ceremony.
The March of Life is one of the FJCR projects. According to Boroda, over a thousand of people from 45 cities of Russia have participated in it this year. The visit timed to the Victory Day had to remind Jewish youth about Holocaust and heroism of the Red Army, about the role of the USSR in saving hundreds of thousands Jews in Europe.
