Patriarch Kirill invites Patriarch Ilia II to Moscow to celebrate 100th anniversary of restoration of Russian patriarchate

Tbilisi, November 2, Interfax - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has invited Georgian Patriarch Ilia II to Moscow for celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the title of Russian patriarch on December 4, the Georgian Patriarchate said on Thursday.

The invitation was given to Ilia II by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, the head of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations, who had arrived in Tbilisi the day before.

Patriarch Ilia II accepted the invitation and promised to come to Moscow if his health allows, the Georgian Patriarchate said.
