Moscow, October 27, Interfax - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia confessed he was afraid of criminal content of Russian TV.
"I switched on the first channel and saw crime there, switched to the second one - crime there, to the third one - crime there too. Can you even imagine what promotion of crime, debauchery, human passions, wild lifestyle an ordinary user of our television faces! And if we add Internet?" the primate said and added that he watched TV very seldom.
He stressed that he considered "such informational background very dangerous for the development of the civilization."
"And if we compare possibilities of all our religions to the influence of television and Internet, I think we deserve a monument for developing and strengthening religious organizations in conditions of such freedom," he said.
The patriarch believes that existing freedom is used to evil and it can have hard consequences for the whole civilization.
