Moscow, September 4, Interfax - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi have expressed concern about the events in Myanmar and called on the authorities of the country to bring the situation under control.
"The emerging situation in Myanmar was addressed during a bilateral meeting with the Egyptian president. Both President Putin and President el-Sisi expressed extreme concern about the events in Myanmar," Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
The Russian and Egyptian presidents "condemned any manifestations of violence, whatever their origin and whoever they are threatening, including Muslims."
"Both presidents called on the authorities of Myanmar to bring the situation under control as soon as possible," Peskov said.
