Moscow, June 30, Interfax - Priest of the Russian Orthodox Old-Rite Church Kirill Shakhzad accepted in Christianity 120 residents of Pakistan.
He conducted the corresponding service in the city of Sargodha, thus setting up the first Old-Rite community in this country, ROORC press service reports.
Father Kirill is Pakistani, he has become an Old believer this spring. He learned in Russia attending divine services. Priests who know English helped him. Now he conveys this knowledge to his community.
The number of Christians in Pakistan makes 1-2%. Tradition says that Orthodox Christianity started spreading in the country from the preaching of Apostle Thomas.
