Blocking of Russian online media in Ukraine, attacks on Church suggest that Kiev is under influence of radicals Lavrov

Nicosia, May 18, Interfax - Kiev's recent actions, including the ban on a number of Russian Internet resources, persecution of ethnic minorities and attacks on the Church, manifest strong influence that radicals have on the Ukrainian authorities, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"These actions show that the Ukrainian authorities are strongly influenced by the most radical forces in society," Lavrov said at a press briefing following talks with his Cypriot counterpart in Nicosia on Thursday.

Lavrov said he meant "attacks on languages of ethnic minorities living in Ukraine, the blocking of the operation of mass media and Internet resources, the attack on the Church and the government's attempts to interfere with ecclesiastical affairs".
