Moscow, October 13, Interfax - Russian Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky will head the Russian delegation at the opening of the Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural Center in Paris, the Culture Ministry press service told Interfax on Thursday.
"The minister's visit to Paris is planned. Currently, we have information that he will head the delegation. He will participate in the opening of the exhibition and the opening of the spiritual and cultural center. He will also make a speech at the Russian-language press congress," the ministry said.
The exhibition in question is 'Icons of modern art. The Shchukin collection. Hermitage Museum - Pushkin Museum', which will be held at the Louis Vuitton Foundation from October 20, 2016, to February 20, 2017.
It was reported earlier that Russian President Vladimir Putin was supposed to participate in the opening ceremony of the center on October 19, but he subsequently cancelled his visit.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that it was caused by the fact that "the events related to the opening of the Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural Center and holding of an exhibition were excluded from the program."
