Kiev, August 15, Interfax - The Council of Bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) has announced its readiness to engage in dialogue with self-proclaimed Kiev Patriarchate and Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.
"Our Church is open to a sincere and constructive dialogue with representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Kiev Patriarchate) and the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. This dialogue should rely upon the foundation of Christian law and should be free from any interference on the part of political forces," the Council of Bishops said in a message to the country's clergy, monkhood and all faithful people.
The document has been published on the website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate).
Mending the church split is a top priority of the Orthodox faith, it said.
