Sewer system disturbs plans to hold gay pride in Kostroma

Yaroslavl, June 2, Interfax - Storm sewage broke down in the Lokomotivnaya Street in Kostroma where it was planned to hold a gay pride parade on May 2, head of the Media Department in the city administration Yulia Vorontsova says.

"The works are under way there. They will be carried out from May 30 to June 5. It is physically impossible to hold the parade. The workers will work on the pavement," she said.

Answering the question whether a new place is suggested to the gay community for their event on June 2, Vorontsova says that it will also be impossible.

"We won't be able to coordinate everything as there was a weekend. We just don't have time," the interviewee of the agency said.
