Zhirinovsky advises the Church to refuse tradition of thrice Easter kisses
Moscow, January 25, Interfax - Vice-speaker of the Russian State Duma and Liberal Democrats' leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky does not recommend to kiss and to shake hands as flu has raged throughout the country.
"Don't kiss," Zhirinovsky said on Monday at the extended session of Liberal Democratic Party.
"Mouth is the most unclean place", he added, saying that harmful viruses are conveyed through the kisses, "even your eyes are full of different illnesses!"
According to Zhirinovsky, the Church can also consider the consequences of traditional for Orthodox three time kisses that usually follows the Easter greeting "Christ is Risen!"
"No kisses at all!" Zhirinovsky stresses.
He believes it necessary to intensify propaganda aimed at reducing physical contacts among people.
"Your recommendations can scarcely be overestimated, especially on the eve of St. Tatiana Day," Russia's chief sanitary doctor Gennady Onischenko said as he also attended the session.
