26 February 2020, 14:45God doesn't care if he's mentioned in the Constitution - Surkov
Moscow, February 26, Interfax - Russia will finally become a "sovereign democracy" only after the priority of national law over international is established in the Constitution, former presidential aide Vladislav Surkov said.
Surkov said in an interview with Center for Current Policy Director Alexeyi Chesnakov, posted on the Aktualnye Kommentarii website, that he has not studied the constitutional "reform" in detail. "I've read what's been in the news. Besides, there's no final text there, yet," he said.
He also commented on the issue of mentioning God in the Constitution. "I've heard about it, but I've not thought about it. I don't know. It can be done, of course [...] Essentially, there's no difference. In my view, God doesn't care if he's mentioned in the Constitution or not. It's more likely that it makes him laugh. At least, the God that I have dealings with," Surkov said.
